Planning The Installation
This section walks you through some of the general rules that must be taken into consideration during the Statelake system installation. Statelake can be installed on any recent 64-bit version of Windows or Windows Server.
To successfully install the Statelake processes you will need to:
Decide on the correct type of installation; and
Install the Statelake application, as per the following notes; and
Have access to a Data Management Utility (database server) that can hold your Statelake configuration database(s).
Data Management Utility (database server)
A data management utility must be installed and accessible. Statelake currently supports the use of MySQL (through MySQL Workbench) and Microsoft SQL Server (via Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)).
Possible Installation Scenario
Within Statelake, a configuration database holds the Statelake components, such as connections, definitions, maps, and actions, that define the processing that Statelake will carry out. Refer to the Statelake glossary that explains these terms in more detail.
Statelake is installed on a case-by-case basis, as how you choose to use Statelake will be unique to the requirements that you have and to your organisation. To ensure a successful implementation of Statelake you should carefully plan the installation to ensure that Statelake will be installed in a way that will support all of those requirements.
An installation comprises two main areas – one for the application and one for the configuration data. The Statelake application server and configuration database server can be implemented in various combinations. For example, they might both run on the same personal laptop or desktop, or Statelake might be installed across one or more servers within an organisation.
The following diagrams illustrate some common set-up scenarios, including a scenario with separate environments for Test and Production.

Software License
To be fully operational, the Statelake software must be activated with a Software License Certificate.
As the final part of the Statelake installation process, the software license certificate will be installed to your computer.
The license file default location is the C:\ProgramData\Flow Software\Statelake\Config\ sub-directory.
