Directories
Statelake related files are stored in the directories detailed in this section.
It is essential that you know where Statelake software files and data are stored so that you can successfully access and manage the program.
Due care should be taken when making changes to files in these folders, as it may adversely affect your Statelake software installation.
Program Folder
By default, the Statelake software is installed into C:\Program Files\Flow Software\Statelake\, although this can be changed through the selection made during the installation process.
Throughout this guide this folder is referred to as the Program Folder. It is the main application folder.
If during installation you have selected a different file location, you should exchange this folder for any references you find to Program Folder or C:\Program Files\Flow Software\Statelake\.
Sub folders
Several sub folders exist by default within the Program Folder.
These are used for special reasons by the Statelake application, and should not be modified unless noted below.
The Components folder stores all the third party component installers. These are normally executed as part of the installation, however should you need to re-install any third party component you can find the installer here.
The Web folder containing web-related files.
Application Data Folder
The location of this folder changes depending on the Windows OS version upon which Statelake is running.
For Windows Vista and above, this is C:\ProgramData\FlowSoftware\Statelake\.
This is a hidden folder. You will need to change your view settings in Windows to show hidden folders and files before you will be able to see hidden folders.
Throughout this guide this folder is referred to as the Application Data Folder or simply Data Folder.
This folder contains a series of sub-directories or sub-folders as detailed below.
Sub Folders
Several sub folders exist by default within the Application Data Folder. These are used for special reasons by the Statelake application and should not be modified unless noted below.
The Certificate folder contains any private or public key certificates that are being used by Statelake. These certificates get used for features like HTTPS and SFTP.
The Config folder holds the details for the Statelake configuration files. You should not edit these files manually. Your license file (with a .cer extension) is also stored here.
The Cookies folder holds information about Cookies. This folder is not automatically created during installation, but may appear at some stage, depending on the processing being undertaken.
The Data folder contains file types databases like SQL Compact databases that are being used with Statelake. This folder can be referenced with the <DefaultDir> tag within DB Connections.
The Files folder is the default location for Statelake to store files that it is processing, and is a local repository for files as they are processed. You should include this folder in your network backups to tape or a remote location. You can configure Statelake to use a different folder for the same purpose within General Settings if so desired. This sub-directory can also be used to house any exported configurations. The Files folder is used as the location of the Statelake training files, so if these have been installed, this folder will also hold several sub-directories created for training purposes. The Log folder stores Log Files that have been created during the operation of Statelake. You should include this folder in your network backups to tape or a remote location.
The Schema folder. XML Schemas are stored in sub folders within this folder. You can add new sub folders and schemas as you require. The Schema folder is used as the location of the Statelake training Schema files, so if these have been installed, this folder will also hold several sub-directories created for training purposes. Please see Tutorials: Before you start for information regards these additional sub-directories. You should take care when updating the standard schemas that are provided as part of installation - an upgrade could overwrite your changes, Instead, take a copy of the schema and alter that.
The Script folder contains any Include files - these are also known as Script files.
The Temp folder is for temporary files created during the operation of Statelake. It should also be used as a location for the storage of any file that is manually stored on a temporary basis.
The Util folder stores Statelake utilities.
The Wsdl folder is the default location for the storage of topic-specific Web Service Definition Language files. These files provide an XML format machine-readable catalogue of the web services that are available,
The XSLT folder holds files with a .xslt extension. XSLT stands for Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation. These files are used to style and transform an XML file into a different industry standard output format, such as into an .html web page or a text document.
