The Destination Data pane is split into two.    This is the definition that the data is to be written to.

The Destination will display the detail that has been pulled from the destination definition that was listed on the main mapping screen. In this example below, the destination definition is a File Definition called Excel File Def 2.

Excel File Def 2 contains the following - an Excel file called FMEPRECALLS. In this case the file name just happens to be the same as the file name of the source. Depending on the definition selected, this could be any type of source data.

So in the Map, the file FMEPRECALLS appears under Destination Data.

Click on FMEPRECALLS to expand and display the contents of this file into the lower panel. As soon as the file field names are expanded, events appear in the Events panel.

The fields are displayed with a colour-code.

  • BLACK means that the field has no mapping

  • GREEN means that it has been successfully mapped

  • BLUE means that it is a field with a default value attached, and therefore requires no mapping
