Preparing The Target Environment Space
Prior to any data transfer, it is most important that the target environment is set up with whatever software and access is required for Statelake to run smoothly.
Please liaise with your system administrator where required.
Step 1 - Data Management Software
Statelake currently supports the use of MySQL (through MySQL Workbench) and Microsoft SQL Server (via Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)).
The first step is to ensure that one of these is installed, operational and accessible for the new target environment.
It may already exist and access may already be available for the target environment, so this is step can be missed.
However, where there is no current access to a supported data management utility at the target location, then the appropriate software will need to installed.
Please refer to your system administrator, and to Installing Statelake for more information.
Step 2 - Statelake Software & Directories
Depending on your final environment configuration decision, the Statelake system software may need to be installed and accessible on the target environment space.
If you do not need to have Statelake installed in this target space or it is already installed, then bypass this step.
If the software does require installation into the target space, then it should be installed into the new environment via the set-up procedure as detailed in Installing Statelake.
Please also refer to your system administrator for help and support as required.
Installing Statelake with the proper installation executable ensures that all peripheral and associated system files and sub-directories are included in the installation, and have been installed correctly and successfully. The setup and installation procedure should create the standard and default sub-directories on the selected drive - however the final path can be changed during the installation process by manually selecting an alternative path.
For the system files, the default is C:\Program Files\Flow Software\Statelake\. For the configuration data files, the default is C:\ProgramData\FlowSoftware\StateLake\.
More information and a full explanation of the installation process can be found at Installing Statelake.
